Far Cry 5 Is Coming Early Next Year

It’s a bit of a wait. We hope it’s worth it.

If you’re a fan of the Far Cry franchise then it’s time to get hyped, as the next installment for the open world first-shooter has been announced by the Ubisoft Montreal team. While other games from the franchise may be set in far flung destinations, with Far Cry Primal even set in the Stone Age, Far Cry 5 is set smack dab in the middle of America’s heartland — Hope County, Montana.

A Far Cry game wouldn’t be a Far Cry game without a charismatic antagonist, and this time around Ubisoft Montreal is giving us Joseph Seed, leader of a doomsday cult called The Project at Eden’s Gate. With the devoted members of the cult taking over, it is up to you to head the revolution that will free Hope County.

This is all sounding like a synopsis that you read on the back of the cover of a Playstation 4 case, so we’ll let the Announcement Trailer do the rest of the talking.

Far Cry 5 will be available on February 27, 2018. It’s a bit of a wait but, if it’s anything like the rest of the games in the series, we’re sure it’s worth it. If you’re a huge fan of the series and are already sold just by watching the trailer, Ubisoft has opened up pre-orders for the game on their website.
