Full-Sized Adobe Photoshop Coming to the iPad Soon

Full-Sized Adobe Photoshop Coming to the iPad Soon

To utilize the iPad’s desktop-grade internals

With tablets becoming more powerful by each generation, it is not surprising if we arrive at a time where we can natively use desktop apps on them. Adobe acknowledges this, and there are reports that they will be launching a full-sized version of Photoshop (not the toned-down Photoshop Express we all know) for iPad users by 2019.

This has been confirmed in an interview with Adobe’s chief product officer of Creative Cloud Scott Belsky in an interview. The move is said to boost Adobe’s subscription sales and is part of their strategy to make their products compatible with multiple devices.

Analysts think that it goes beyond that. By making a full-sized version of Photoshop (and a full-sized version of Illustrator later on) for iPads, this fulfills Steve Jobs’ vision for the iPad when it launched back in 2010—that one day, tablets will replace laptops.
