The latest to join the dark side
One of Android Q’s key features is a system-wide dark mode, and Google has been updating most of its core apps to incorporate the battery-saving feature. After rolling out dark mode to Keep, Chrome, YouTube, and Messages, Google Photos will be the next core app to receive it.
The new feature has been uncovered by XDA developers, and Photos’ dark mode looks similar to how it was implemented to other core Google apps. You get a dominant black background with varying shades of gray and pastel colors for select icons and design elements.
Expect Google to update Photos with dark mode in the coming weeks.
