Here’s How Pokémon Go Will Work On Your Phone

Details have finally emerged for the mobile game everybody’s been waiting for

When Pokemon Go was announced last year, the internet went bonkers. After all these years, you’ll finally be able to see if you have what it takes to be the very best. But after the announcement and the awesome video that came along with it, the gameplay mechanics of the upcoming mobile game is still unclear.

Until now that is. Both Niantic and The Pokémon Company has spilled the beans how the mobile game will work. Essentially, you walk around the real world with the app running, and when it finds a Pokémon nearby, your phone will vibrate. Tapping the screen will throw a Poké Ball, which can be bought at PokéStops. These shops will be placed in points of interest in the real world which includes museums and monuments, which will force you to go visit them if you want your Poké Ball refill (and hopefully learn history and culture in the process).

Just like in the game, certain Pokémon can only be found in specific places. Water-based Pokémon, for example, can only be found near bodies of water. The more you play, the more your trainer will gain rank which opens up better items and more Pokémon.

Anyway, you can check out the full game mechanics here to see exactly what you’re in for once the game ships this year.

  1. Siguradong magastos ito sa battery life. Bagay na bagay ang marathon m5 + massive powerbanks sa mga ganitong laro.

    1. Same implementation as Ingress, Niantic’s more popular game. Unfortunately, it still isn’t spoof-proof 🙁
