Hirna and MiCab App Now Available for iOS and Android

Hirna and MiCab App Now Available for iOS and Android

We take a quick look at both apps

After LTFRB has approved the accreditation of a few TNCsĀ a few weeks ago, the Hirna and MiCab apps are now available for download at Apple App store and Google Play store. While both are marketed as alternatives to Grab, MiCab and Hirna are cab-hailing services, with the latter being based in Davao.

We downloaded the app on our phones and we noticed a few differences: For MiCab, it has Facebook integration and an interface that is reminiscent of Grab. Hirna, on the other hand, is limited to only an SMS-basign-upn up, where you are informed that you are “considered a co-founder”:

When it comes to using the app itself, there are no available taxis at Hirna, as the app is based in Davao, and is working on expanding its network to Metro Manila. Also worth noting that Hirna only accepts cash payments as of this writing:

As for MiCab, the interface does remind you of grab, and you can actually book a cab. We compared the fare prices with Grab using the same destination, and MiCab does offer a significantly cheaper fare compared to Grab.

Both apps are still relatively new, so expect them to make a few tweaks in the coming days. Excited for these new TNC players?
