iflix Now Has 100,000 Subscribers

It looks like the Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) business model is going to work in Southeast Asia. iflix has just announced that its subscriber base reached 100,000, making it the fastest growing internet TV service in the region. It’s not really a surprise given the movie and TV titles they have on their service and the heavy marketing they’ve put behind the brand. Heck they even brought Glee star Heather Morris to the Philippines just to launch it in Manila! Add to that the Php99 monthly fee and you have a very strong offering.

“We’re thrilled that we’ve surpassed 100,000 subscribers since launching at the end of May. We remain focused on delivering an outstanding value proposition for our users by adding new content and new features in the coming year and look forward to continuing to smash our internal targets in the years ahead.” Mark Britt, iflix Group CEO

We’ve been using iflix quite often in the last few weeks but not really on our mobile phone. We recently installed a projector in our living room and we’ve been doing marathon sessions of our favorite TV shows like Friends, Scandal, Big Bang Theory, and Person of Interest. It’s a pretty sweet deal at Php99/month.

We highly recommend you guys try them out, especially if you’re a Smart subscriber. They have a free trial period so it won’t cost you anything to just check what they have to offer.

Congratulations to the iflix team and we hope to see more movies and TV series on your service soon!
