Instagram, owned by social media magnate Facebook, is currently demoing its parent company’s “Live Video” function in Russia. A Russian publication caught wind of the trial feature through their readers. Here are a couple of phone screenshots of “Instagram Live” in action.
Facebook launched their Live Video feature back in early January, and while it hasn’t gained mainstream appreciation, the social media company continues to promote its use. It’s only natural to see Facebook migrating the feature to their popular photo application to better leverage their streaming function.
Currently, there’s no word from Instagram on whether we’ll be seeing a global release for Instagram Live, or whatever they’ll be branding it with.
