So who’s catching the last Harry Potter film this Thursday? Show of hands? I know I am! Here’s another reason to go and watch! It was just announced that attached to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 is a potential trailer for the sequel of one of the most beloved films of 2009 — Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in Guy Ritchie’s adaptation of Sherlock Holmes.
Yes folks, he’s back. With how well the first movie came out, it’s only elementary that they make a sequel!
In the first film we are subtly introduced to the mysterious would-be arch-nemesis of Sherlock Holmes, the brilliant criminal mastermind Professor James Moriarty. In the sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) along with Dr. Watson (Jude Law) face off against Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), who no longer hides in the shadows.
Not much is revealed but photos compiled by the Collider suggest that Watson finally marries Mary (which Holmes was vehemently trying to oppose to). As usual, there’s also a whole slew of explosions! Here are some of the photos and teaser poster for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is scheduled to opens this December 16, 2011 (if MMFF gets in the way we may be seeing Sherlock Holmes by January)
