While we were saddened by the closure of LalaFood, Lalamove is moving forward with its expansion efforts, this time offering same-day services to Pampanga. This was part of their expansion plans that was announced way back in 2019 as part of addressing logistics services outside of Metro Manila.
In a previous interview with GMA News Online, Lalamove Philippines managing director Dannah Majarocon explained that they have clients that want items to be delivered to Pampanga and that Pampanga is home to a major hub with Clark International Airport.
Citing a PSA report from 2018, the app-based logistics company said that Pampanga has been on the rise with various major developments, along with around 26000 registered businesses in the area.
“We are optimistic that our delivery service will help businesses while creating jobs for the driving community in Pampanga,” Majarocon said.
To kick off the same-day delivery services in Pampanga, the company has started accepting partner driver applications and expects their services in Pampanga to be operational by February 27. Lalamove has yet to confirm if their services will cater to Pampanga to Metro Manila and within Pampanga routes only or if it will offer Pampanga to Southern Luzon deliveries.
Prior to its upcoming expansion in Pampanga, Lalamove is already doing same-day services to Southern Metro Manila, specifically Cavite and Laguna. In Metro Manila and Cebu alone, Lalamove currently has over 45,000 partner drivers to accommodate same-day delivery services.
Following the effects of the pandemic, delivery services is expected on the rise. Aside from eCommerce platforms like Lazada and Shopee, delivery services play a big role in ensuring goods are delivered safely while reducing contact as much as possible to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
