All of the proceeds are going towards combatting COVID-19
Aside from Lazada’s anniversary milestone for a cause, PayMaya was able to raise a sizeable amount with its #OneAgainstCOVID19 initiative. As of March 27, 12PM, the fintech app was able to raise close to Php 8 million—all through PayMaya’s one-stop-shop donation platform.
“The response we have gotten just a week after launch has been tremendous, which only highlights not just the magnanimity but also the creativity of Filipinos in responding to this crisis, aided by technology,” PayMaya founder and CEO Orlando Vea said.
Aside from its online initiatives, PayMaya has also partnered with Canon for a month-long series of online classes for a cause. All of the proceeds will go to companies and non-profit organizations such as the Philippine Red Cross, UNICEF, Caritas Manila, OXFAM Pilipinas, the UP PGH Foundation.
