For the uninitiated, Pokémon Centers are basically hospitals for Pokémon in the game universe. Trainers can get their Pokémon healed there, free of charge, as well as store their precious Pokémon for safe-keeping.

Hanke also touched on future content updates, such as trading and training features. Pokémon breeding is also on the table.

The Niantic Labs CEO also discussed the eventuality of later Pokémon generations making their way into the game. “Beyond the first generation, there are some others that may make their way into our universe,” Hanke remarked. “We’re looking forward to finding interesting ways to make that happen in the coming months and years.”
