Elric Brothers from Revoltech

We were shopping around for collectible figures the other day and we skipped the usual Play Arts Kai series and checked out what another manufacturer, Revoltech, had to offer. We definitely weren’t disappointed! Our hunt led us to two figures from one of our favorite anime series, Full Metal Alchemist! For Php2,400 a piece we bought the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse.

Let’s go over each figure starting with the elder brother, Edward.

Compared to the figures we’ve bought from Play Arts Kai and Hot Toys, Revoltech collectibles are more smaller (usual toy size). Measuring approximately 140mm tall, Edward makes for a good desk display figure but not really for giant glass cabinets. What’s amazing though is despite the size Revoltech was able to still have 18 points of articulation and 16 joints making the figure very posable. There are also a bunch of extras in the box like face parts, arms (automail and flesh), palms, and transmutation effects.

Here are a couple of photos for your appreciation:

Up next we have the younger brother that has no body and whose soul is living in a metallic armor, Alphonse.

Alphonse, just like in the anime, is much bigger than Edward. The figure measures around 150mm tall and has 22 articulation points but less joints at 8. It’s still very posable thanks also to the optional palms and face. Box also came with the same transmutation effects as Edward and the stand.

These two figures were meant to be bought together because you actually use the stand only if you pose bother characters. The slot at the base is for the foot of Alphonse while the slot for the top is for the back of Edward. Here’s a sample fight scene between the two brothers:

Over-all we’re very happy with the both figures from Revoltech. Full Metal Alchemist has always been one of our all-time favorite anime series so it’s a joy to have figures of two of our favorite characters. We’re definitely going to keep an eye out for other good anime characters from Revoltech. Heard they have one for Kenshin so we’re psyched to get our hands on that one!

Revoltech figures are sold in most toy stores in Greenhills.
