Smart Debuts Carrier Billing for Apple Users

A more convenient way of paying for Apple-related apps and content

As part of its efforts in giving added convenience to its subscribers, Smart debuted its Carrier Billing on Apple’s Apple store.

A first in the Philippines, Carrier Billing lets you charge all of App Store, Apple Music, and iTunes purchases via your Smart Prepaid load or Smart Postpaid bill. This makes online purchases safer and convenient for Smart subscribers.

“We are eliminating this barrier and therefore empowering our customers to truly embrace the digital lifestyle with easy access to millions of paid iOS apps and digital content at their fingertips,” Smart SVP and Head of Individual Consumer Business Oscar A. Reyes said.

To use Carrier Billing, subscribers should have an existing Apple ID and select “Mobile Phone” as their payment method from their account settings on App Store, Apple Music, and iTunes from their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac, or on iTunes from their PC. Once selected, all future purchases with the customer’s Apple ID will be automatically charged as part of the monthly Smart Postpaid bill or directly deducted from their Smart Prepaid load.
