In the latest update of Spotify, the music streaming app brought back its lyrics feature. This time around, the lyrics are synchronized with the song, giving you a karaoke-like experience.
The Philippines is one of the 26 countries that get this feature on the app. Previously, only Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Mexico have support for Lyrics. The feature is made possible with a new partnership with MusixMatch.
Prior to this, Spotify used to have the Lyrics feature through its partnership with MusixMatch, but that ended in 2016. In 2018, Spotify partnered with Genius for a “Behind the Lyrics” feature, which showed fragments of the lyrics and the backstory behind them.
