It’s Finally Here!
It was towards the end of April that Nintendo announced that it was making a larger version of their entry-level handheld console, the 2DS XL. As the 2DS XL’s name suggests, the popular Japanese console maker has upsized the screen, but more importantly it now has a hinge so you can close it up like a clam shell. It’s also less embarrassing to bring around because if you’re a #titogamer, like I am, it kinda looks like you stole the regular 2DS from your pamangkin while you’re killing time at a coffee shop playing Pokemon.
But, I digress.
If you’ve been holding on to your precious moolah and have been waiting to get your hands on the 2DS XL, it is now available through Datablitz. According to their Facebook post, they will only be offering the handheld console bundled with games; meaning you’re going to be paying a little extra for games that you may already own. The bundle comes with:
- Nintendo New 2DS XL in either Black/Turquoise or White/Orange
- 3DS Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer
- 3DS Hometown Story
- 3DS Yokai Watch 2 (Bony Spirits or Fleshy Souls)
- 1 Random Amiibo figure (Animal Crossing series)
A pretty good selection of games if you’re looking to get into the vast gaming library of the 3DS for the first time but, again, it may be a bit of a bummer for people looking to just get the handheld on its own.
The 2DS XL Bundle is priced at Php 10,495. We really hope that they have a change of heart and offer it on its own.
