The PowerRay is a Underwater Drone for Fishermen, Divers

Move over, aerial drones

The PowerVision Technology Group, the guys behind the PowerEgg aerial drone, have started accepting pre-orders for their newest consumer invention – the submersible PowerRay drone. The tech group is currently selling the drone in European markets starting at $1,715 (~Php 86K).

This underwater drone boasts operation at up to 30 meters (98 feet) deep, in any kind of water, whether it be fresh, salt or even chlorinated. The PowerRay has a rated operating time of four hours.

Unveiled at CES 2017 to the delight of drone fanatics, the PowerRay has a 50-meter cable tether connecting it to an above-water base station. The PowerRay has a built-in 4K camera, with ZEISS optics.

Other versions of the PowerRay include handy features for fishermen such as a “Powerseeker Fishfinder” which detects underwater wildlife and a “Bait Drop Line” to lure them in.

A special edition of the PowerRay includes a virtual reality headset that enables users to watch in what the drone is currently recording.
