Transformers: Devastation Is An Awesome Mix Of Nostalgia And Glorious Robot Combat

Transformers Devastation

We are really looking forward to this one

The clip you’re about to see below isn’t some un-aired episode of the glorious, 80’s Transformers – it’s gameplay footage of the upcoming Transformers: Devastation title that’s set to hit all major consoles (and the PC) on October 6. Instead of Micheal Bay’s confusing, organic robot look, Transformers: Devastation looks almost like an original episode that we used to watch when we were kids back in the 80’s (yes, we’re old).

Anyway, the cell-shaded animation is beautifully done, and there’s a good mix of glorious melee combat and shooting. There’s a robust combo system in place, and you can transform to add more damage (and coolness) to regular combos as well, as evidenced by the E3 gameplay footage below.

Color us excited! We’re definitely hopping on the hype train for this one.

  1. It should be also mentioned that this is being developed by PlatinumGames — the same dev that made Bayonetta 1&2, Metal Gear Rising, Vanquish, etc.. Which means the combat will probably be amazing.

  2. I miss the good old cartoons when I was growing up… 🙂 Most especially the Japanese Tokusatsu. 🙂
