Uber Announces End of PH Operations

Uber Announces End of PH Operations

Made effective starting today

In spite of LTFRB’s efforts to stop Uber from ceasing operations, the ride-hailing app has made up their minds: In an email sent to its users, Uber announced that their app will no longer be available in the Philippines effective today.

Uber’s announcement implicates that Grab will be the sole ride-hailing app operating in the country, as other ride-hailing apps are awaiting accreditation from LTFRB.

To recap, Uber’s end of operations in the Philippines stemmed from its deal with Grab, where it sold its Southeast Asia operations in exchange for a seat at Grab’s boars.

Prior to the merger, Uber was suspended by LTFRB for a month.
