Over 150 million users are reportedly affected
Around four days after MyFitnessPal discovered “unauthorized party acquired data associated with MyFitnessPal user accounts”, Under Armour has issued an advisory regarding the data breach. Said to affect over 150 million users, the hack involved obtaining information such as usernames, emails, and even passwords.
As a precautionary measure, Under Armour is urging all of its users to change their passwords as soon as possible, in addition to ramping up efforts in improving security and finding the culprit behind the data breach.
Data breaches such as this are not new; as reported by The Huffington Post, major organizations such as Yahoo, Uber, the Pentagon, travel booking site Orbitz, and credit reporting agency Equifax have been affected as well. On a local scale, Comelec has been affected by a data breach as well.
