Made by the co-founder of Vine himself
After it was shut down over three years ago, Vine co-founder Dom Hofmann is bringing back the short video platform in the form of Byte. Like Vine, Byte lets you shoot and upload six-second videos onto its platform.
Like any social media platform, Byte has a feed where you can explore content made by other users. However, it does not have filters or transition effects like TikTok—at least for now.
Compared to Vine, Hofmann wants Byte to be a platform to help creators make money, though it has yet to reveal how it is going to gather ad revenue.
The app is available for download in Android and iOS in the US as of this writing.
