Yup, you were right

If you’ve ever muttered the words “this country has the worst traffic in the world” while trying to navigate the clogged streets of Manila, congratulations, you’re right – at least according to a recently concluded survey done by navigation app Waze.

Global Traffic

The traffic app evaluated the driving experience of 50 million users in 32 countries and 167 metropolitan areas in the world to create the Driver Satisfaction Index, which condenses the driving experience into a numerical score, with 10 being satisfying and 1 being miserable.

Commute Traffic

As expected, our country’s terrible traffic conditions, especially during rush hour, has made the PH the worst place for drivers in the world, tied with Guatamala and Venezuela. Waze’s Home-work commute index puts the Philippines at the bottom at the pile, with the traffic index at 0.4 and the commute index at 0. Yes, 0. Anybody who has ever had to commute to work in the metro probably knows how accurate that is – taking public transit in Manila every day turns you into a certified street warrior.

  1. andali naman ng solusyon nyan. Raise the taxes on cars, gas, fare and practically everything transport-related. and while you’re at it, raise the prices of food. The masses will then have no choice but to live underwater. Manila will become a paradise.

  2. One of the main reasons why I did’nt move to Manila despite my relatives nagging me to do so, and even if I’m already living alone here in the province.

Nothing beats waking up at 7:30 and still make it to work before 8AM.

  3. Look at those who are at the ‘Worst’ in the list. Most of those countries (kasama na tayo) are former colonies of Spain. May kinalaman kaya ‘to sa kawalan ng discipline and development when it comes to traffic?

    1. Why Pinoys refuse to accept the obvious truth is beyond me. You know, the glaring fact that stupidity is the main cause of poverty? Probably because we can’t accept that this country is full of morons and we are a dumb people?
