You’ll have to risk some of your own

If you told us a few years ago that we’d be able to win cold, hard cash by slinging birds against pigs in Rovio’s Angry Birds mobile game, we would have called you insane. But that’s exactly what you can do thanks to the developer’s partnership with WorldWinner in Angry Birds Champions.

The game, accessible via WorldWinner’s iOS app or on WorldWinner.com, allows you to put real money on the line against other players in a best-out-of-three mode or through progression, where the highest or combined score wins. The game will match players up with similarly skilled opponents, and the winner gets the cash prize (while the loser loses real-life money and contemplates their life choices) with WorldWinner getting a small percentage of the prize money.

The stakes are hardly world-changing though, and prize money is generally a few dollars each and players only poney up less than a dollar to join. The game is open to Filipinos as well (we checked), but you’ll need a credit or debit card to join up.
