A couple of years ago Calvin Klein launched their 9th fragrance for men — Calvin Klein Euphoria. One spray of this and you’ll be drawn to its distinctive ambiguity (yes paradoxical ain’t it). It is familiar but not quite and that is something pretty hard to achieve.
Euphoria Men has top notes of ginger pepper cocktail mixed with raindrop accord and chilled sudachi (a Japanese citrus fruit); heart notes of black basil, cedar leaf and sage; and base notes of creamy suede, patchouli, Brazilian redwood and solid amber.
The top notes open to a citrusy sweet scent that’s not too overbearing because of the ginger pepper cocktail. The heart and base notes give this scent a sense of comforting familiarity which presents the power of Euphoria to us: its flexibility. I love how Euphoria reminds me of my early travels in Hong Kong — waking up to a cool 9am morning then scouring the streets of Causeway bay for breakfast. 🙂
If ever, my only concern with Euphoria is its staying power. At least for me, I had to re-apply 3 or 4 times throughout the day—something that I don’t do with my other Calvin Klein perfumes (I’ll review Obsession and CK Man soon).
But overall, if you want to explore the range of Calvin Klein men’s perfume, Euphoria presents a good ground to do so as the scent can lead you towards Calvin Klein’s stronger classics (Obsession, Eternity) or move you forward to more adventurous grounds (Man, Euphoria Intense). Euphoria is well-balanced perfume with little to no over-bearing scent ideally used for evening events. You can even say it’s the perfume for every man.
Euphoria for Men by Calvin Klein available at Rustan’s Department store for Php 4,898 (100ml) and Php 3,798 (50ml).
