Alcatel’s Three New Budget-Friendly Phones Will Be Announced During MWC

They have thin side bezels and friendly prices

Remember Alcatel’s 18:9 smartphones that they showed off during CES? Well, the Chinese brand is set to release more details said phones during the first week of Mobile World Congress, on Feb. 24.

The three phones are made for three distinct sections of the market: Alcatel 5 series is pegged as the company’s “affordable premium”, while the Alcatel 3 is aimed at giving customers a nice mix of new features while still providing a relatively achievable price point, while the Alcatel 1 is for the budget crowd looking for more bang for their buck.

As for specs, the Alcatel 5 will come with a 5.7-inch IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution, near bezel-less panel, as well as an octa-core MediaTek processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage and a 12-megapixel camera. The Alcatel 3V will house a 6-inch 18:9 display plus dual rear cameras, while the Alcatel 1X will come with an 18:9 panel with a sub 100$ price tag.

Speaking of pricing, the Alcatel 5 is expected to retail at around $300 (Php 15K), while the 3V is pegged to be around 200$ (Php 10K) or less.
