Will doze make this smartphone last longer on a single charge?
Lenovo’s massive 5000mAh-packing Vibe P1 might get longer legs, thanks to the incoming Android Marshmallow update that’s hitting devices soon. The P1 impressed us when we reviewed it late last year, packing exceptional endurance on a single charge.
With the update, we expect the phone to last even longer, thanks to the battery optimization that Doze brings. Doze is a new feature in Android 6.0 that increases the battery life of the phone by turning off certain processes when the phone is not in use.
The update, first announced by Lenovo in their official forums, is now hitting the airwaves via OTA. You can check yourself if your phone is eligible to receive the update by going to settings, about phone and system update. If you haven’t received a notification yet, don’t fret – OTAs typically roll out in waves – you’ll eventually get yours soon.
