The new Focus has arrived

Global motoring brand Ford has officially launched their newest Ecoboost-equipped model today: the all-new Focus. The new model comes with Ford’s award-winning Ecoboost engine that they’ve managed to stuff in a bevy of vehicles including their Mustang, Fiesta and Ecosport.

That new engine is a four-cylinder 1.5-liter engine that’s essentially turbocharged, allowing the Focus to output 178hp and 240nm of torque. Ford says that’s more than a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, and we believe them.

The new Focus is also blessed with plenty of new gubbins on the inside, including a massive 8-inch touchscreen display (for the top-end model) as well as Ford’s new Sync 2.0 technology. The car also sports a paddle-shifter (for those times you want to take manual control of the shifting) as well as hands-free control of the entertainment system.

The new tech stuff doesn’t stop there. Ford also put in an improved Active City Stop tech that makes the car stop on its own when it detects it’s about to collide with a car in front during slow-moving traffic, as well as an improved parking assist system that takes over parking in both parallel and perpendicular spaces. There’s also a new park-out assist feature included in the new Focus that helps you to get out of parallel parking spaces – a boon for people who absolutely suck at parallel parking.

The new model also boasts a refreshed exterior, sporting sleeker headlamps, spoilers and hood scoops.

The all new Focus will retail for Php 1.278 million for the GTDI Ecoboost Sport + AT and Titanium+ AT. The GTDI EcoBoost Sport AT and Titanium AT will go for Php 1.088 million.
