The best Ford SUV you can buy today
Ford has officially launched their finest SUV in the country: the all-new Explorer Sport. The new model has changed quite a bit from the previous iteration, and has received quite a facelift from last year’s model.
A new, more aggressive front hood, badge, heightened grille and LED headlamps grabs the attention of drivers and other people when you’re out and about in it.
The new closed-off lower roof rack and a new rear spoiler help to improve aerodynamics.
Aside from cosmetic changes, the new Explorer sport is probably one of the most heavily tech-laden SUVs that Ford is offering the PH market today. There’s a front, 180-degree camera integrated in the vehicle which gives drivers a wider look at the road ahead of them, especially useful when approaching intersections and driving out of a parking slot.
The new Explorer Sport also uses a hands-free, power lift gate, which opens up automatically when you move your foot at the back of the car, especially handy when both of your hands are full of groceries.
As usual, the Explorer Sport is crammed to the brim with other tech amenities, including a touchscreen display that acts as the nervous system of the car, hands-free control, Ford’s Sync 2.0, Ford’s Park Assist Tech and Smart-Charging USB ports that fast charge phones and other gadgets.
The Explorer Sport also comes with new stuff under the hood: it’s powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine that delivers 370PS of power at 5,500 rpm and 475 NMm of Torque at 3,500 rpm. The new Explorer Sport also comes with a 6-speed, SelectShift Automatic transmission, a tuned suspension for a smoother ride, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, as well as new engine subframe mounts specially tuned to reduce vibration while on the road.
The new 3.5L Explorer Sport should be hitting dealerships all over the PH this month, and is priced at Php 2,819,00 and comes in three colors: Tuxedo Black, White Platinum and Magnetic Metallic.
