The Toyota Wigo Gets a Facelift

Why So Serious?

Given the sheer amount of compact hatchbacks running around Metro Manila nowadays, we think its safe to assume that this particular segment of automobile isn’t going away anytime soon. Why should they, right? They’re great for maneuvering around the crowded streets of the city and it doesn’t hurt to gas them up too. It’s been awhile since Toyota released their 1-liter compact hatch, the Toyota Wigo, so we’re pretty happy to see that it’s gotten a facelift.

Doesn’t it remind you of something? Why so serious, Toyota? Let’s put a smile on that face.

Toyota Indonesia launched the new Wigo, also known as the Agya, yesterday with an updated front fascia and front grilles that would make the Joker proud. The model we see in the photos is that of the higher-end TRD variant that also looks to sport projector headlights, with LED daytime running lights and fog lamps too.

The interiors of the Wigo also get a bit of an update with semi-bucket seats, and a  2-DIN touchscreen head unit. There are now audio controls on the steering wheel, so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to change your tunes.

Now that the new Wigo has made its way to Indonesia, we can probably expect it to hit our shores pretty soon as well.
