Motorcycle drivers should invest in one
Face it: Here in the Philippines, there are a lot of crazy drivers. No matter if you drive a car or a motorcycle, it is really hard to avoid reckless drivers and road hazards along the way. While cars can be equipped with GPS systems and dash cams these days, we ask ourselves: How about motorcycle drivers?
Well, a Kickstarter project aims to give all the safety benefits for cars to motorcycle drivers with the PLY Smart Helmet. This futuristic looking helmet is equipped with bells and whistles to keep motorcycle drivers safe on the road. These include hands-free functionality via Bluetooth, GPS tracking, and a camera that can record 720P footage at 30FPS. On top of that, the PLY is DOT and ECE 22.05 certified, making it highly suitable for motorcycle drivers.
As for the built-in app, the PLY can record other data, such as your battery consumption, your route, your speed, and many more. On top of that, you can easily share the recorded footage via WiFi to show to your friends.

How much is the asking price? $399 (~Php 20.4k). It may be pricey for the average motorcycle driver here in the Philippines, but we do think it is a worthy investment especially it helps drivers be safe on the road. On the other hand, we’re sure that people will find ways to make the smart helmet more affordable.
