ABS-CBN correspondent Jacque Manabat shows us a guided glimpse of the Beep or “Bagong Jeep”, a 16-seater modernized jeepney currently being tested at the Lagro-Cubao route and parts of Marikina.
Edit: Corrected the seating capacity of the Beep to 16-seater. Thanks for the call out, readers!

For the trial run, 6 Beep jeeps are currently traversing the Lagro-Cubao route, along with Parang to Stop & Shop Marikina route. The minimum fare, for now, is set at Php 7.00.
The Beep jeepney is a wide, 16-seater vehicle with a curbside entrance. Sporting a Euro-compliant engine, a Beep unit costs around Php 1.3 million.
For automated fare collection, reloadable Beep prepaid cards can be used for the passengers’ convenience.
No details on when (or if) the Beep will be rolled out en masse for public use. Here’s hoping they do, and soon.
