Here’s another left field product from Chinese tech titan Xiaomi – an electric scooter dubbed the Mijia Electric Scooter. This isn’t the first time Xiaomi has launched an electric vehicle, though. Earlier in June, the company unwrapped the QiCycle, an electric engine enabled folding bicycle.
As for technical specs, the Mijia has an operating range of 30 kilometers (while carrying a 75kg user) through its 280Wh battery and a 500W motor capable of speeds up to 25km/h. The Mijia has Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) regenerative breaking, as well as a regular break disc with E-ABS technology.
Weighing at 12.5kg (27.5lbs), and available in White and Black hues, the Xiaomi Mijia will be launching on December 15 with a price tag of $290 (~Php 15K). Xiaomi has also provided a partner smartphone app for the scooter, displaying the usual performance and condition metrics of the paired unit.
