ASUS’ latest tablet is in town

While we’re all ecstatic that ASUS announced the Zenfone 2 a few weeks ago, let’s not forget that the Taiwanese manufacturer also makes other gadgets as well, including tablets. One of their tablets is the Fonepad 8 (FE380CG) which has officially landed on our shores.

  • 2GB of RAM
  • 8-inch WXGA IPS display, 1280 x 800 resolution

  • 5-megapixel rear camera
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Miracast support
  • Android 4.4 KitKat with ZenUI
  • 15.2Wh li-polymer battery
  • Php 11,995

The new Fonepad 8 tablet is an 8-inch (obviously) tablet powered by Intel’s Z3530 quad-core processor, paired with 2GB of RAM. As the name suggests, the tablet has phone capability as well, and sports dual SIM slots that you can use to call and message other people with, though how you’re going to take calls with it on its own is still a mystery to us. Maybe pair it with a Bluetooth headset?

Anyway, the tablet is priced at Php 11,995, and will be sold in all authorized ASUS re-sellers nationwide.
