New version, new camera
When we reviewed the Flare S a couple of months ago, we found a few issues that kept the device from getting our wholehearted recommendation, namely the underwhelming camera and disappointing battery life. Cherry Mobile is addressing at least one of our gripes with the original Flare S wit the Flare S2. According to the company, the Flare S2 will carry an updated Sony IMX 179 camera for better photos.

Other specifications include an unnamed 1.3GHz quad-core processor (most likely a MediaTek one), 4.5-inch IPS display with FWVGA resolution, 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It’s not clear if the company has updated the battery life of the Flare S2, though there’s a big chance that the company would not risk making the same mistake again, and would probably put a bigger battery in the Flare S2.
