Bass that sounds great without compromising audio quality

Many headphones promise to deliver massive bass, but not all of them can do it properly. Some deliver heavy bass but suffer from distortion, while others fulfill the promise but drown out everything else. JBL’s Synchros S200 In-Ear headphones manage to deliver good, solid bass without compromising sound quality and clarity. Check out what comes with the box in our Unboxing!

Solid design, premium build

Everything about the JBL Synchros S200 just screams premium. From the box that you take it out of, to the solid, die cast aluminum construction of the headphones.

The design of the headphones is a bit unconventional, but we dig it nonetheless. It’s a breath of fresh air to the typical headphone design that we see in other in-ear headhphones. The Synchros S200 has angled ear tips that allow it to sit comfortably and securely in your ear.

The synchros S200 also has a microphone, allowing you to make and answer calls when it’s attached to a smartphone. The Synchros S200 also has a white color variant if you’re not too keen on black as well.

JBL also included four additional ear tips (small, medium and large, plus one Comply foam tip) so that you’ll be able to get the best noise isolation you can with it. JBL also throws in a handy faux leather carrying pouch for Synchros S200.

No compromise bass

One of the great things about the Synchros S200 is that it delivers head-knocking base without compromising anything else. You can really feel the opening beat in Childish Gambino’s Hearbeat for example, and the flowing electro/house beat as the song begins to build momentum. Aside from the great bass, it has an excellent balance of highs, mids and lows, as well as excellent clarity. Listening to Adele’s Rolling in Deep is a sheer pleasure, and you can really hear the heartbreak in her voice as she sings the chorus of the song.

As good as it is, it isn’t perfect. The seal of the silicone plugs isn’t the best around, and while they don’t fall out of your ear during use (we used it while running and it didn’t pop out even after an hour of use) we could still hear outside noise creeping in. The headphone design is also a bit big, and sticks out a few mm or so in your ears, possibly an annoyance if you intend to sleep with them on.

All in all the JBL Synchros is worth the premium price it asks for. It delivers excellent no-compromise bass that more expensive brands struggle to deliver.
