Again with the 4.2 Jelly Bean…

    • Hello

What’s the problem with 4.2 Jellybean? Hindi naman ganun kahalaga ang Android Version. In the end kaya ka naman bumibili ng smartphone para may gamitin, at 4.2 pa rin ang pinakamalaking share sa usage ng android devices. Kaya hindi nagrerelease ng Kitkat ang mga local brands gaya ng CM, Starmobile at MyPhone kasi karamihan ng devices nila, Mediatek, and halos wala (or wala talaga) pang Mediatek processors na nagsusupport sa KitKat. Maybe unofficially like yung mga makikita mo sa XDA, but still, my main point is hindi naman ganun ka outdated ang Jellybean 4.2 pagdating sa Android. Yun lang.

      • Trollala

        Nag-iinarte lang yan.

        • James

          correct hehe.

Processors don’t matter with which Android version you have. Just so you know, there’s a rumor that Google’s gonna do something that will force OEMs to use at least 4.3 Jelly Bean

        • Jonas Gamao

          Forgot to add
The reason why I installed CyanogenMod on my Galaxy S4 is because of KitKat and Samsung’s software is too bloated

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean was released in 2012. Where are we now? 2014. Why do you think Motorola is favored by most tech enthusiasts a lot? One if them is up to date software updates. The Moto X was updated to KitKat 20 days after the source code was released to the public. The Moto G, the best low-end device I’ve ever seen because of the balance of specs and price, had some devices updated to KitKat in December of 2013 (one month before the promised month). Why do you think there was a backlash when HTC said they won’t update the One X & One X+? People want up to date software. There. I’m done, I think

          • Supot

ikaw nagrereklamo ng 4.2 JB ako naka froyo pa rin hanggang epro wala akong reklamo ahahahahah

          • Trollala

What difference does it make if you have JB or KK? Ikaw ba nung unang lumabas ang Windows 7 eh nag upgrade ka agad from WinXP?

Here’s my point, whether you have Kitkat or JB, even ICS, as long as the OS can handle the apps and/or games you have, it does not really matter. It would only matter for tech enthusiasts like you which is roughly 20% of the market. Normal people don’t give a jack’s shit what their OS is. Heck, some don’t even know what OS they got.

          • Hello

Processors do matter. Hindi mo nakuha yung sinabi ko, I think? What I said is that Mediatek processors still do not support KitKat. It was just recently when Mediatek announced KitKat for phones that have Mediatek processors, and only this April. Have a look, at http://www.unbox.ph/gadget/kitkat-coming-to-mediatek-powered-phones-this-april/ . Hindi ka informed about Android. It’s not like ayaw i-release ng local brands gaya ng CM, SM at MyPhone ang KitKat, it’s just hindi pa nirerelease ng Mediatek, which are the most common chipsets used by local brands ang KitKat.

      • macy

        • mitosis

the layman will not know the diff between 4.2 and 4.3 jb

    • Andoid 19

  10. kung mali400 or up GPU neto panalong panalo na to , great specs at the price of 5k

  11. the first my phone na may kanto………….

  12. Billie

AFAIK, MT6582M processors only support up to qHD resolution. If MyPhone Rio has 720p resolution, then should its processor be MT6582 instead of MT6582M?

  13. engrfrog

way better than cm fuze (except 4 d battery..) waiting for on-hand performance.. gg

  14. rex

Really? HD? do MT6582M support HD? sa pagkaka alam ko upto qHD lng sya.

    • Echelon XxX

Kaya pero Gagapang brad….very nice observation though….yun yung caveat hehe
Remains to be seen na lang….

    • jao

mt6572 lng ung hangang qhd but mt6582 is up to hd display

  15. Trollala

From the front, it kinda looks like a CM, no?

It does look promising though. Waiting for the review.

  16. chacha

…parang iphone 5C sa biglang tingin, panalo :)

  17. Risa Suyu

  18. so this is available now?

  19. MrPhabletBulacan

Aba aba ito ay bang for the buck, bibihira ito maganap ah (kapag may bagong flare lang pero flares still leaves many things to be desired), will be following this phone at kapag maganda build quality, durability at battery pwede to secondary or even overtake my iphone as my primary ^_^

  20. jabroni

  21. Echelon XxX

if this has the same issue as the A919i’s absence of ”default write to SD card” feature…you better forget this, Not gonna lie this phone is pretty mighty impressive for its price point but I say it again, it gotta have that feature kundi sayang ito.

    • tudie

Yes it has that feature to save to sd card. I just bought this today. So far so good.

  29. tudie

    • christopher

  30. Khingfiles

  31. DERP

madali daw masira yung casing nito pag nagasgasan kulay puti, mganda san kung inayos pa nila, tsaka laggy daw sya sa mga 2d games like Flappy Bird etc.

  32. Marissa

Nagtingin n po ako sa lahat ng outlet sa SM here in Batangas pati sa Robinsons pero wala dw stocks. Magkakaroon pa b ng ganitong unit and when????

    • Metro marami pa :)
may bagong version din Rio Lite at may isa pa :D

  33. RACKY

haha,, nag aaway kayo dahil lang sa OS,,, ehh lahat naman ng Android OS my mga leak at dis-advantage.. mataas nga OS mo, kamusta naman Chipset mo?,, remember, di lang OS ang basihan ng isang magandang Smart phone, para kang naglagay ng high speed na motor ng formula 1 sa Bisikleta…. and hindi naman sa ayaw q ng android, but accept the fact that android OS is a RAM Eater,, d gaya ng IOS at WP OS, hindi lang sa RAM naka base ung Program Processing nila, may inter-connection and Processor, chipset at OS, so hindi nahihirapan ung smartphone sa multi processing, kaya mo bang mag run ng Asphalt 8 sa Android na 512 Ram? IOS and WP OS did, in smooth way, + a high quality product that they offer,

    tsk tsk tsk.
