While everyone was busy raving about Xiaomi’s latest announcements, Oppo, another Chinese manufacturer actually launched their newest smartphone a day before. The R1C may look like your typical Android smartphone in the front, but turn it over and you’ll see a beautiful Sapphire clad rear. A metal frame rounds out the gorgeous exterior of the R1C.

The 5-inch smartphone packs Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The imaging part of the R1C is handled by a Sony IMX214 lens, along with a f/2.0 aperture. Disappointingly the R1C only uses an HD panel, and has LTE connectivity as well. As far as price, the RMB 2499 price of the R1C is pretty much par for the course of the premium Chinese manufacturer. No word on availability outside China as of the moment.
