Looking at the spec sheet, both devices are pretty evenly matched in many fronts. Before we talk about the differences, let’s take a look at the similarities for both devices: both have a 5.5-inch full HD panel, protected by scratch resistant glass (more on this later), powered by MediaTek’s MT6595M octa-core processor, have 3GB of RAM, have 32GB of storage and are both dual-SIM, dual LTE.
Now, on to the differences: the Cosmos One Plus’ display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2, while the Starmobile Knight X only has scratch resistant glass. While both devices have 32GB of storage, the one in the Cosmos One Plus is expandable while the one in the Knight X is not. Both have different camera modules as well: the Knight X has a 13-megapixel Sony RS IMX135 camera, AF, F2.2 aperture paired witha  5-megapixel front facing cam while the Cosmos One Plus has a 14-megapixel rear camera, Sony IMX 214 sensor with BSI paired with an 8-megapixel camera. The Knight X has a leg up in terms of battery, sporting a 3350mAh battery compared to the Cosmos One Plus’ 2700mAh. The key difference here is that the Cosmos One Plus has a removable battery, while the Knight X does not. Finally, there’s rumors that the Cosmos One Plus is upgradable to Lollipop, though we haven’t confirmed it yet while Starmobile has not given us a heads up whether or not the Knight X will get an OS update down the line.
Let’s talk about price: the Knight X retails for Php 15,990, and while we haven’t pegged the official price of the Cosmos One Plus as of yet, it’s rumored to go as low as Php 13,990. That’s a big price difference, and may well be Cherry Mobile’s weapon against its local rival.
