Meet the Starmobile Energy

Starmobile’s naming convention for their smartphones is very simple and straightforward. Astra, Bright, and the Crystal. Notice anything? Yes, they’re following the letters of the alphabet! They actually confirmed this to us during one of our meetings with their marketing team. Anyway, we were expecting to see their “D” phone next but it looks like they’re skipping that for now and keeping that device for wraps and they’re jumping straight to the “E”. Ladies and gents, Unbox is happy to introduce to you Starmobile’s newest budget offering – the Starmobile Energy.

Starmobile Energy Spec Sheet

  • 1GHz Processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • Dual SIM, Dual Standby
  • Expandable Storage via microSD
  • 4-inch Capacitive Touch Screen
  • Mobile TV
  • WiFi, WiFi HotSpot, 3G, GPS
  • 8-megapixel rear-facing camera
  • VGA front-facing camera
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 2200mAh Battery
  • Freebies: Screen Protector, Jelly Case, and 4GB microSD Card
  • SRP: Php5,690

As you can see in the spec sheet, this phone wasn’t made to top the Crystal. This is really more like an in-betweener of the Starmobile Astra and the Starmobile Bright. It runs on a single-core processor only but it has Android 4.0 ICS already as well as an 8-MP snapper. Another notable feature is the 2,200mAh battery (that’s a lot of juice). Of course there’s also mobile TV so you can slide out the antenna and watch your favorite teleserye while you’re on the go, lol.

Here are a few more photos we took of the Starmobile Energy:

It's not the thinnest phone in the block but at least it will last you more than a day

Budget Android with good battery life. That pretty much sums up the Energy.
