“I’m always angry.”

Over the last few months we’ve collected almost all the 1/6th scale figures of characters from The Avengers movie. These figures by Hot Toys are made in the stunning image and likeness of the characters as portrayed by the different actors/actresses in the film. There are actually a few more figures left in the line that we haven’t added to our collection and just a few days ago we managed to bring home one of them — the 1/6th scale figure of Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).

Here’s a nice clip from the movie that should jog your memories on how Ruffalo performed as Hulk/Bruce.

Arguably one of the best scenes in the entire movie, hehe. Anyway, let’s move on to the figure!

Let’s kick things off with the head sculpt. As expected of anything from Hot Toys the resemblance of the face, expression, and the small details are all spot on. They even managed to get Ruffalo’s messy hair right! Here’s a close up shot of the sculpt for your reference and appreciation.

Awesome sculpt of Mark Ruffalo.

What’s interesting to note is that when we compared the hair style on this sculpt and the one on the 1/6th scale Hulk, there’s actually a lot of similarities. Awesomeness.

Moving on to the body, we feel that the purple shirt and pants are great fits but the blazer is a bit too big. I don’t recall if Bruce Banner also used an oversized blazer in the movie so I’ll probably have to watch it again just to compare.

Since Bruce Banner in the movie pretty much just had his suit and glasses we didn’t really have high expectations for the extras and accessories. It’s a good thing we kept our expectations down because the only extra stuff that came with the figure are the following: a wrist watch, glasses, and Loki’s scepter. Yep, that’s it, hehe. At least Black Widow had a variety of weapons. This one is really kinda lacking. Maybe they should have included the small bike he used (Vespa?) when he appeared in the very same scene in the clip that we showed earlier.

The brown blazer also comes off if you want Banner just in his purple long sleeved shirt. If you’re OC you can actually fold the sleeves up a bit so that it’s similar to how he wore it when he didn’t have his blazer on in the movie.

You can also take out off his coat.

Over-all the figure is nice. It’s not super great and extreme value for money since there are only a few accessories. However it does shine though if paired with the 1/6th scale Hulk figure. Together the two figs just look sooooo bad ass and perfect for collectors and Avengers fans.

So should you get one? If this is your first foray into 1/6th figures there are definitely better options out there. However if you’re collecting the Avengers line or if you really love the Hulk, this one is a must have.

Stores in Greenhills are selling the 1/6th scale Bruce Banner figure anywhere from Php8,500-Php10,000. Suggest you don’t pay more than Php8,500 for it.
