A Loophole May be The Key To Getting Google Apps On Huawei’s Phones

There’s still hope for Google apps to appear in future Huawei phones

Since the implementation of the US Trade Ban, all Huawei phones sold outside of China cannot ship with Google Mobile Services. As a response, Huawei is working on expanding its App Gallery as an alternative to the Play store. While App Gallery cannot full replicate Google apps for now, Huawei is finding a way to include Google Services.

“We hope Google services can be available through our AppGallery, just like how Google services are available through Apple’s App Store,” Huawei Rotating Chairman Eric Xu said in an interview with CNBC.

Having Google apps via App Gallery is a new idea from Huawei, and it makes sense. With Apple’s iOS, Google apps can be installed through Apple’s App Store. However, to make this possible, Huawei has to work with Google to make it possible, finding possible loopholes with the US Trade Ban.
