A rare occurrence
vivo has not been reliable when it comes to major Android updates: most of its phones have been stuck with the Android OS that came outside of the box. As a response, vivo tried to be more proactive in rolling out updates starting with last year’s Android Nougat update for its V5 series.
The premium mid-range X21 is under Android Pie beta as of this writing, and it seems that the V11i is slated to an Android Pie update.
Recently, a Geekbench listing revealed a V11i running Android Pie, which is a rare occurrence. There are no details about it, but given the listing, it seems that vivo is working hard to update the V11i—and possibly the V11—to Android Pie in the coming weeks.
