iPhone 4S announced by Apple

They keynote started out with Tim Cook doing an overview of the Apple business. He was followed by Forstall and Cue who talked about iOS 5 and iCloud. Schiller then came on stage and announced the new iPod Nanos and the highly talked about iPhone 4S. Apple’s latest phone has an A5 dual-core processor chip which means you get up to 2x faster CPU and up to 7x faster graphics! They’re turning the iPhone 4S into a serious mobile gaming device! They even previewed Infinity Blade 2 which has amazing graphics and gameplay. To those wondering that game will be available starting December 1.

Other main features:

  • Schiller also mentioned improved battery life but this is something I’ve got to try for myself. To see is to believe.
  • It’s a world phone. CDMA and GSM capable.
  • Better camera! Now has 8MP with backside illumination. 73% more light and 33% faster capture. Five elements lens, f/2.4 aperture, and 30% more sharpness. 1080p video recording. That’s a lean, mean, and powerful camera!
  • AirPlay Mirroring. You get to see on your big TV the apps you’re playing on your iPhone 4S. Cool feature. They can do this now because of the faster CPU.
  • Voice navigation via Siri! Just hold down home button, speak something, and the iPhone 4S will respond. Freaky AI stuff here. Wonder if the iPhone 4S can take in different kinds of english accents, hehe.
  • Comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB.
  • Pre-orders in the US start October 7, available by October 14.
So… will you be getting an iPhone 4S? Looks like the defining feature is Siri.
