Not bad for the 9-month old Android version
Google just updated its Android version distribution numbers to share the good news: 9 months since the official launch of Android Pie, around 10.4% of devices run on the latest Android version.
That’s considered a feat, as it took 11 months for Android Oreo to break the 10% mark since it officially launched last August 2017. Speaking of Android Oreo, both Android 8.0 and 8.1 account for 28.3% of all Android devices.
The good numbers for Oreo and Pie are credited to Project Treble, an initiative that helps manufacturers update to the latest Android versions as fast and efficient as possible.
