Atari Creates the Speakerhat

The Name Says It All

Back in E3, Atari said that they were going back into the business of making hardware. They introduced us to the Ataribox, a console that is an obvious nod to their gaming system from way back when, but this is something we weren’t expecting.

They’ve just created a hat with built-in speakers and they’re calling it the Speakerhat, because they have to spell it out for us.

It sounds like an April Fools joke, but it’s nearing the end of July and it’s definitely happening; unless this is a ploy to drum up noise for the brand. As we said earlier, the baseball cap comes with two built-in speakers, a microphone, and Bluetooth connectivity. The company also says that you can link multiple Speakerhats together and simultaneously listen to a single source.

The hat is just heading into its beta test phase, so there’s no word about its availability or pricing just yet.
