Second in many SEA markets as well

Research firm Canalys is officially reporting that Chinese brand OPPO is the #1 smartphone brand in the Philippines in terms of market share in Q2 2019, besting Korean brand Samsung and fellow Chinese brand vivo.

According to Canalys, OPPO took 28% of the local smartphone market share in the Philippines, followed by Samsung at 19% and vivo at 17%. The brand has also enjoyed great success in Indonesia, where it’s currently at #1 with a 26% market share, with Samsung coming in second, at 24%.

Other regions see OPPO in the #2 spot, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

OPPO managed to ship around 7.3 million smartphones in the region during Q2 2019, slightly behind Samsung at 7.7 million. vivo is currently third at 4.1 million, while Xiaomi is fourth, at 3.7 million. Realme enters thetop five for the first time since its inception, shipping around 1.6 million phones despite being in the market for less than a year.
