Cherry Mobile partners with Globe

Big news from Cherry Mobile today: the local brand has announced their own prepaid service dubbed as Cherry Prepaid.

Since starting from scratch setting up their own network infrastructure is frankly a pain in the behind (just ask San Miguel and the yet to be concluded deal with Telstra) the company partnered up with Globe who will provide the backend for their service.

Aside from that, Cherry Mobile is treating the entire thing like a brand new unit separate from Globe. Cherry Mobile’s prepaid offerings are distinctly different from the one that Globe offers, and Globe and prepaid subs can’t even pass load to Cherry Prepaid subscribers, although they can replenish load through Globe’s load centers.

Cherry Mobile will be offering their own load cards, in different denominations: 50, 100, 300 and 500. Cherry Mobile will also have their own load service.

Since Cherry Mobile offers phones, they are also bundling three phones with the service: the Lite Bundle at Php 399 with the CP1, the Big Time Bundle at Php 999 with the Astro and the Partner bundle at Php 1699 with the Comet and CP2. Here’s the bundles:
