DJI Adds “Advanced” Model To Phantom 4 Lineup

4K resolution, 60 FPS recordings never tasted this good

DJI has just updated their Phantom 4 drone lineup to include a new “Advanced” model that offers many of the same features that the top-of-the-line Pro offers for less money. The new Phantom 4 Advanced sports a new, improved 1-inch, 20-megapixel sensor plus a mechanical shutter that’s larger than the one on the base Phantom 4 model.

Because of that, you can now shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second, as well as process 60 FPS H.264 4K footage asnd 30 FPS H.265 4K footage at 100Mbps as well. Flight time for the Phantom 4 Advanced is pegged at 30 minutes, and you can now use a 128GB microSD card into the Advanced for longer videos.

What’s the difference with the Pro then? Well, the Advanced model has fewer obstacle avoidance features compared to the Pro, and can only detect objects in front and below it. The Pro model has side and rear avoidance as well as front and bottom.

DJI’s also offering an Advanced+ model, which features a 5.5-inch, full HD display built right into the controller of the drone. DJI’s pricing the Phantom 4 Advanced at $1,349 (Php 66.7K) while the Phantom 4 Advanced+ is $1,649 (Php 81.6K).
