Globe 4G Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini Stick (10mbps)

Globe Telecom is stepping up their mobile internet offerings with the Globe Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini Stick. It delivers up to 10mbps via their 4G* network! The speed is possible because of Globe’s HSPA+ network. If you’re connected to HSPA+, you get up to 10mbps. If not the speed will be lower. However, according to blogger Rico of Technogra.ph, the speed is still pretty good even if it’s not connected to HSPA+.

Here’s the TVC:

How much? It’s Php2,199 monthly (postpaid) and you have to option of turning it into a MyFi device by adding Php50 to your monthly bill.

This is definitely an interesting development! I’m personally looking forward to seeing two things:

1. How Smart will react? What will they offer?
2. How will the fair use policy of Globe affect this service?

PS: Just confirmed from their PR via Twitter that 4G network covers areas in the following — Makati, Taguig, Pasay, Las Pinas, Mandaluyong, Marikina, QC, Navotas, Caloocan, Valenzuela, and Manila.

  1. Hi Andre and Luigi, we put an “*” on the 4G as well as a quick note at the bottom of the post. What we want to highlight is that there’s a new product available that offers 10mbps on a USB stick.

  2. Wait! I didn’t say it hits 10 Mbps on regular networks! I just wrote so far that it feels like wired broadband. :)

  3. Is the fair use policy imposed on this? :/ Coz I just experience my first case of that policy on me, sucks having to share the PC with 2 other people. :/

  4. Globe Wired Broadband sucks, it turns on and off even if it’s not raining, more so if it is. How will I know if this would be a better back up. Maybe it won’t be a back up if it’s also Globe?!

  5. Don’t ever trust that Rico of technogra.ph, bayaran lang yan ng globe..don’t expect an honest review from him!
