We unbox the Havit M22!
In the quest for decent portable speakers, the usual requirements are the following: Powerful drivers, a long-lasting battery life, and a body that can handle the elements. Havit’s M22 Bluetooth speaker has all three features, along with a clever handle. With a price of Php 3700, is this rugged boombox worth considering?
What is it?
It is an outdoor Bluetooth speaker that boasts of a rugged body, along with two 10W speaker drivers delivering a total output of 20 watts—which is quite impressive for its price range.
What’s in the box?
Aside from the speaker itself, you have some documentation, a MicroUSB cable, a 3.5mm auxiliary cable, and a nylon handle that you mount on the speaker.

We agree! Aside from being detachable, there are several ways you can install the nylon handle. The speaker also comes with two rubber cups to cover those unused mounting slots and double as anti-slip pads.
What are our first impressions?
For one, it is one hefty speaker, and it’s not surprising: Aside from having two 10W drivers, the M22 has a huge 5000mAh battery. On a full charge, the M22 is advertised to last up to 20 hours, but we’ll have to check that out in our full review.
The speaker is rated IPX5, which means the M22 can handle a spray of water from any direction for up to three minutes.
On the right side of the speaker is a flap that houses a number of ports: A MicroSD card slot, a MicroUSB port, an auxiliary jack, and a USB 2.0 port for charging your devices. That’s what makes the M22 unique: With its large battery, it also doubles as a power bank as well.
On top, you have your volume controls, power button, and playback mode, since the M22 can play music on its own via the MicroSD card slot.
Would you recommend it?
While it does have several promising features, we will be putting the M22 to the wringer and see if it is a value-for-money rugged Bluetooth speaker. We will post our full review in the coming days, so stay tuned.
