Smartwatches are the “big thing” nowadays, so HTC and Huawei have been gearing up to throw in their own wearables into the emerging market. Here’s some leaked info on what these tech manufacturers have been cooking up lately.
For Huawei, a teaser for their upcoming Honor S1 smartwatch has been spotted on Chinese forums. If you recall, a few weeks ago, Huawei said that they weren’t developing new Android Wear devices for this year. Could this be the rumored Tizen OS watch everyone’s been talking about? We’ll find out soon on October 18, at a Huawei product event unveiling the Honor S1.
As for HTC, the company has been developing an Android Wear smartwatch, codenamed “Halfbeak”, since 2013. A couple of pictures have surfaced lately on Weibo showing the smartwatch in live use.
ASUS has already unveiled their stylish, powerful ZenWatch 3 a few days ago, and they may have set the new bar for their competitors to surpass. We’ll find out soon whether Huawei and HTC are up to the task.
